Tribal Designs Redefined in Elegance
The collection revisits the rustic charm of tribal jewellery in the form of elegant designs. Every piece is adorned with beautiful coil work, a predominant motif that’s used in the ancient art of Dhokra.
The art form of Dhokra dates back to 4000 years and is one of the earliest non-ferrous, lost-wax casting techniques known for its simplicity and artistic coil motifs. Often also spelt as Dokra, it is named after the Dhokra Damar tribe of West Bengal. It is a tedious and time-consuming process, which includes several steps like making a wax model, covering it with clay and baking it in a kiln to form the final casted metal piece. This collection, however, borrows the coil motifs used in Dhokra and beautifully offsets it with intricate cutwork to produce elegant gold jewellery
