This year, as anticipated, the highlight of the Magnificent Jewels category was a 52.82 ct diamond of D colour, emerald-cut, type IIa and flawless. This diamond was expected to sell for over $7 million, and at a sale price of $7.9 million, it did not disappoint. Another great find was this Toi et Moi* Ring by Alexandre Reza, with two perfectly matched pear-shaped diamonds, one clear D colour, and the other an extremely rare vivid blue diamond. (* “Toi et Moi” means “You and I” in French, a romantic design featuring two symmetrical diamonds placed in the opposed, cross-over style you see in the Reza Ring.) In terms of sale value, the star of the show was a fancy intense blue cushion-cut diamond weighing 7.64 ct, that sold for a whopping $8 million, roughly. The Noble jewellery collection featured lovely antique pieces, notably from Greek and Italian royal families.
