We got to indulge to our heart’s content in the new and the unusual with this month’s collection. Diamonds are April’s birthstones, and this was a great time for us to work with diamond’s lesser known but immensely beautiful brethren – champagne and black diamonds.

Personally, I find that champagne diamonds have a sophistication that is practically unmatched by most coloured stones. Especially as cocktail accessories, champagne diamonds have a mature, distinguished appearance that is irresistible. Champagne diamonds look particularly lovely in rose gold, with diamond accents. Wear them by day with denims and smart tops, or by evening with dark coloured, flowing party dresses.

Black diamonds are all about statement. Practically the polar opposite of a regular white diamond that gives out tons of light and colour, the black diamond is a solid, opaque black, and for that very reason, is arresting in its appeal. We’ve tried out subtly gothic inspired black and white combinations – for a really stark look, go for black diamond solitaire in white gold, and for something more sparkly, go for black and white diamond combinations.

My favorite is this heart pendant with a black diamond in it – the contrast in colour and theme between the black stone and the white gold heart shapes has gothic romance written all over it.
